Russian authorities have announced a Russia–Cuba flight suspension affecting regular air traffic between the two countries. According to Rosaviatsiya, several Russian airlines are temporarily stopping operations on Cuban routes due to operational difficulties at Cuban airports, primarily linked to Cuba fuel issues.
The current Cuba flight disruption impacts scheduled passenger services operated by Rossiya Airlines and Nordwind Airlines. The carriers have reported ongoing problems with aircraft refueling, making it impossible to maintain stable flight operations. As a result, a full Cuba flight suspension has been introduced until the situation improves.
In the next few days, Rossiya Airlines plans to carry out only a small number of outbound services from Cuba. The scheduled departures from Havana and Varadero to Moscow are aimed at bringing home travelers remaining on the island. Once these return operations are completed, regular flights from Russia to Cuba will be suspended in full until further notice.
